I've conducted a lot of interviews, both face to face and telephone. Not sure I can help much on the example front without a bit more info, but in general on telephone interviews you need to remember the following:
1. Smile - you can really hear it in a voice, and it demonstrates enthusiasm and interest. 2. Listen to the whole question, and if you don't understand what they are getting at, ask questions. Then answer the question and shut up! You don't have any visual cues, as to their reaction, so don't make the mistake of gabbling on because you feel the need to fill the space. 3. Set yourself up to succeed - they can't see you so where you are or what you're wearing can't influence them, but it can influence how confident or professional you feel. So get yourself set up somewhere that makes you feel right, without distractions, and make sure anyone around knows not to disturb you.
With regards to examples - I recently phoned a credit card company because a refund I had been promised by a hotel was not showing on my invoice. I was grumpy when I made the call, and the advisor immediately picked up on this and asked me what was wrong at the hotel, and then sympathised when I told him. He wasn't able to resolve the problem, but that simple act of humanity and empathy completely transformed how that call went.

Well no sure if will help but at work I had to give an example so for instance lady asked me to help her find an item and ether than just pointing it out I take her to the item show her and ask if she needs any more help? I could explain the item and suggest any simlar items and other things that would be used with it. If it's for a complaint them it should be dealt with quickly and politely as possible with a smile, customers like a smile it if on phone a nice happy polite voice not a miserable drone
