I voted no and am glad it went that way. The amount of racist drivel about it is a shock to be honest. Some people were shocked that we had a vote when we werent born here. It seems to be in the past for people up here now, they have moved on from it very quickly and got on with their lives.

Shame the same cannot be said for the former First Minister - I see he has retracted his pledge to abide by the referendum's outcome Personally I think he got exactly the result he wanted (not that he would say as much, obviously); he's retained the safety net (defence, NHS, and other centrally-funded spending) that comes with remaining with the UK, while also obtaining further concessions from Westminster.

I am hoping that is the case James! I do think that the way that money is spent is wrong in a lot of ways. Why should law abiding people subsidise looters and rioters for instance? The London and Manchester riots were paid for by the tax payers and government so why should the people of Scotland not get help with living further apart? I know which way I would rather pay if I had to choose between paying to rebuild Manchester so they can rip it apart again or to renew the surface of a Highland road that only serves a handful of houses

Ehh Ed Milliband?! All as bad as each other IMO. In all honesty I think the majority of the Yes vote just wanted rid of trident
