Wonderful. Many congratulations and a huge well done. get all the help you can get for the first six weeks. You are not invincible and if you want to be back on that beautiful horse ASAP then looking after yourself for the first 4-6 weeks is crucial. Too much too soon Will set you back. I ve watched two c section friends have long recovery times recently simply because they didn't give their bodies a chance. I did nothing except look after my baby for five weeks then got back to horse and gym and haven't looked back So that's the stern warning, now enjoy x x x

Thanks, I know! I've got a wonderful maternity specialist Physio coming out to me in a couple of weeks to assess me and tell me what and when I need to start with to get my fitness back. Will follow her advice, I also know of people who have neglected to rebuild their abs and pelvic floor post birth before exercising again and have suffered because of it.

What lovely pics - I'm not really a baby person at all, but I have to say that wee Sebastian is utterly adorable in his blue suit!!

Congratulations Jenny. He looks very cute!
There are benefits to having a C section as you'll find out, as well as problems. I must admit I was very jealous of all the natural birth mothers up and about, and going home, so soon after the birth, and I discharged myself on day 4, I think it was, after the second one, I wasn't staying in for 8 days again, and they threw me out on day 3 after the third.

I'm going home today - just waiting for docs to do my prescriptions etc. Two nights in is normal now if there are no problems. I need to get off this noisy ward and get home with Daddy there to help at night, Sebastian is now in clingy phase and refusing to go in to his cot. All very normal, the midwives say, and nature's way of getting your milk in etc, but having had little to no sleep since Monday night now I really need to go home and snooze! This ward is very hot and noisy...
