We had our baby yesterday :-) Arrived at 17.14 by emergency c-section, weighing 7lbs 4oz. We've called him Sebastian Elliott, and he is just wonderful!
Had a slow 2.5 day (yes, day!!) labour, baby was back to back so laboured very slowly and took 30 hours to get to 4cm, they helped things along by breaking my waters and then putting me on Syntocin drip, which got me to fully dilated and ready to push. They let me push for about an hour and a half in total before deciding that baby was still presenting incorrectly and I wasn't going to get him out. So cue being rushed in to theatre and having a spinal (which was wonderful as it took the pain of the powerful contractions away!), then the doctor checking if she could perhaps turn baby and deliver him with forceps. She quickly established that this would not work, and did a section instead.
Weirdly enough, I was booked to have a planned section a week ago as baby was breech, but he turned himself around at 39 weeks. Was hoping to avoid one due to prolonged recovery time, but needs must and baby is here safely, that's all that matters. I'm hoping to escape from hospital soonest so I can take Sebastian to the yard to meet Gazdag :-)

Welcome to this wonderful world Sebastian Elliot. XX
Very good news he has arrived safely and know what you mean about recovery time being longer as I had emergency C section with Clare, but it was her breathing and she was in distress, but it is worth it to have a happy, healthy baby to cuddle and love, but I am sure you know that now. LOL
At least they dont keep you in 10 days now like they did me....longest 10 days of my life that was. LOL
Have to ask though, where are the piccies? I know, I know, you have only just had him, but come on Jenny, lets be fair about this, we need piccies, pretty please.

Saw the lovely pic of Sebastian Elliot cradled in his very proud Dad's arms, and Jenny looking tired but happy. Am looking forward to meeting him in October, and will be dancing around with fingers in my ears going "LA LA LA" whenever *any* birth stories are bandied about!

How else do you celebrate your baby's arrival, than with champagne and Dominos?! :-D

A few minutes old with Daddy in theatre, and Mummy looking quite shell shocked... I realised today that I don't have much recollection of getting from labour ward to theatre, or of being prepped for the op, other than thinking "Get this spinal in to my back NOW!!!"
