I thought those days were over, where kitten are sold in pet shops??
went to cardiff today and the cardiff market, there are two pets shops up the stairs, and kittens for sale in the windows, 40 pound each
I thought those days were over?? two didn't look too good too, very pale in the gum;s and the bit on the eye were half way across, showing their not too well and they had their mouths open.

Phone the RSPCA, Veronica, and tell them (try the local branch rather than the main number - will see if I can find a contact for you as a friend works down that way) - I didn't think anyone sold kittens from shops anyway these days, and if two of them were ill chances are the others will catch whatever they've got as well.

I said "I have had cats all my life, and I know a sick kitten when I see it"
they were more bothered about me paying them a donation.
they said there going to see, but they didn't seem that bothered

if anyone lives there and goes to see, it isn't the one just top of stairs, although there is kitten there black and white ones, it was the other one, in the top right hand corner up the stairs, there are two kittens one black and white and a bit grey in it, and the other ginger white and black, its them who didn't look too well, very pale mouths, pads, gums, and the bit of eye coming over half way, and mouths open

Bliddy RSPCA, I dare not say anymore as will surely get banned.
I have read that info V and it has been going on for 5 bliddy years.
Could you ring back the RSPCA and Council where he gets his licence from and tell them about this in 2009? Tell them both if they dont act you will go to the people who made it public in 2009.
We got a rabbit years ago from an RSPCA rescue centre local to us and when we got him home he had the most terrible ear infection, they insisted on castrating him too, even though I told them he would not be bred from and they made us take him home before we were totally ready for him, i.e. the box had to be completed in a rush and everything got for him.
When home he wouldnt go outside, well he would go outside but only if something was above his head, poor little soul, so we built a huge wire run for him and I put towels over it and gradually moved towels back each day. The upside was he did live to be 12 years old though and was a lovely, lovely fella. In fact he died last year, bless him.

Well, I have just rung the Cardiff Council and spoken to someone in the licencing dept who deals with this particular pet shop and he has said that they do regular checks including vet checks.
I requested that someone goes round very quickly, given colours of kittens and probs and they will get an enforcement officer round in a maximum of 5 days. They will follow the proper channels/protocol. I did STRESS that the visit wants to be sooner rather than later.
If anyone wants to know more of the conversation, please PM me.
V, the telephone number for Cardiff council is 020 2087 2087 if you need it, you will want the licencing office.
Just rung BBC newsdesk and they will ring the RSPCA press office, so poss things might move now.
