As I'm sure most of you can relate, I feel much more comfortable in jods and wellys... I love dresses, but the sort you can wear with leggings and cowboy boots not the frilly kind a family wedding dictates!
Can anyone recommend a good website for dresses that are a bit different but won't look too out of place at a traditional wedding??
I can't really do maxi dresses because I'm too tall and they tend to hover too far above the ankle in flats (but too long to look right still...)

Hi Holsbols for Maxi dresses have you looked at Long Tall Sally? I was looking for dresses this morning, similar to you I need one for a function but don't do frills and girly stuff... There was one dress which I would love to wear but feel 'the look' is a bit young for me (52) not sure how old you are. It was listed as a maxi dress but it has an asymmetric hem so is meant to be shorter! If you look online and hover over the image of the dress it shows someone wearing it with boots on! Good Luck x

ASOS often have a whole bunch of stuff and take wee peek at Pepperberry although i think you might be too slim for them. Joe Brown has random dresses which i love and can be worn with leggings etc but dont have to be. I find nosing on ebay can whip up some interesting stuff. I got a lovely "wedding style" dress from there by a really expensive boutique for a fraction of the price.

That is really beautiful - and not fussy. I imagine it is the kind of dress you could wear afterwards to many another occasion.

I love the second one but might be a bit too short to be socially acceptable with my long legs haha
Found the perfect dress on eBay, but still got 3 days left on it so I'm waiting-Karen millen dress which is beautiful!!
Will have a look at coast too :-)
