Awww, she was gorgeous. Worth looking for smaller charities, as well - we've got a couple of small ones locally who are really good and always looking for homes for cats. Are you considering (or would you) and adult cat rather than a kitten - I know all the charities struggle to home adults as everyone wants a cute little kitten. Or a devil in a fur coat as they're also known

thanks Karon, have been in touch with a local cat charity, all their cats are with volunteers as foster homes rather then being kept in cages at a centre, they have lots of younger cats available, so they have put my number to the foster carer to arrange to visit some of them the RSPCA not got back to me this is them www.catchat.org/shelter_centre/index.php?route=shelters/shelter&path=37

aww.. she was a lovely looking girl...
I've already decided that my next cat, will be a young adult (not kitten) from a rescue/shelter when Salem goes. I don't think he'd accept another cat, now he's got used to having me for himself.

Young adults are fun - grown out of the difficult little kitten stage (also the stage where you can lose them under furniture and where they fit down the holes in the settee...) but still lively and daft. Pebble is 5 now and he's still lively and is getting dafter as he gets older

You could get three or four, then they could keep each other company when you're not around....
