feeling better now.. have bought some gluten free bread and shortbread mmmm but if it works, I will buy it. It may be cheaper still to make my own bread, but wanna do it the cheating way by way of a mix..... and not from scratch does anyone have any other idea's? Jen - I had a look for the "coffee" in ASDA but they don't sell it

Worth having a go at an exclusion diet to let your gut recover and work out the triggers for you. Took ages for my brain to connect up cows milk allergy to being really unwell and my sister found it really helpful with the recovery from abdominal migraines - she was sensitive to a lot to begin with but can eat just about anything (expect red peppers) now.

I did an exclusion diet too and was able to ditch the meds and manage my symptoms. My triggers were spicy foods and lactose, I was completely lactose intolerant for years, but cutting it out totally helped and now I can tolerate a small amount with no problems. IBS is horrible and so painful at times!

This might not be related to your circumstances, Julz, but when Lexi had the IBD I read that Chlorine in the water would possibly upset her tummy. Now I know you havent been diagnosed with IBD and Lexi was a dog, but maybe food for thought do you think, as you said you went swimming and it came on.
Sorry not likening you to Lexi, but have been trawling through all that happened to her so I can have 'words' with the first vet and I had forgotten it, so thought I would mention it to you.
Hope your feeling OK still. XX

Yep, seem to be fully recovered now. I've sourced gluten/wheat free bread and biccys, and also a bread mix so I can make it myself. Probably set it off again on Friday as got nieces coming round for tea, and making a beef casserole but atleast I got everything I need including painkillers lol.. not that that has ever upset me before. I don't know that it was the swimming that did it (or the water) but I did eat hovis bread that day, and hadn't had any bread for a while. unleven bread (like pitta) seems to be ok..
