Some of you may remember me posting about my poorly daschund last year, sadly he went drastically down hill over the weekend and I had to have him pts this morning. Always been a firm believer of quality over quantity of life, but he had such a miserable existence for the first 7 years of his life and I so badly wanted him to have the same amount or more with us - Gutted doesn't even cover how I feel just now. Despite everything he had been through, he was such a friendly wee thing with dogs and people and would do anything for a biscuit! He pretty much spent the last 2 years shadowing Rory, who has asked none stop about him since he got in this afternoon . This photo was only taken last week (one of his job "perks")

So sorry to hear that, I know it's a phrase repeated time and again but it is better a week too soon that a day too late, like you I believe there has to be quality to life.

Aw wills, I am so sorry about your wee dug. Just love that first picture, he looks so neat sitting there on the push chair. He was a lucky chap to have had such a wonderful life with you after his bad start. xx

Well I told Rory he had died & was a star. He seemed to accept that, tonight he waved up at the sky & went "Hi Charlie, I'm fine." cue more sobbing from me!
I feel lots better today, I know we did everything possible for him & I really do believe he had had enough, still hard though.

Children have such an acceptance of death, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better today, it's never easy but when you know they've had enough I think it makes it just a little easier. He looked a real cutie too, sad he had such a rough start but the 2nd phase of his life was great if the pictures ae anything to go by.
