I'm wary to -usually- but so far these have done only good things for me.
powerhooping is like hula hoop but the hoop is weighted. It's a little sore at first on the old hip bones but fine once you get going. Good for toning up.

It might help to do a different kind of exercise - our bodies become super efficient when doing the same things over and over instead of running how about cycling? This. If you want to stick to running, add in some hill and speed work to shake things up a bit. Otherwise a different discipline may be helpful.
