Sounds like a great idea. I would market it more like restaurant food in your own home etc. rather than 'ready meal'
I certainly would like restaurant quality food ready to be chucked in the oven when I got home from a busy day at work but I rarely would eat 'ready meals'
For pricing, are these meals full meals or would people need to add potatoes / veg / rice etc? That would be a baring on what I would pay

like that idea, like the meal for 2 deals supermarkets do, would pay more for yours (not mass produced) then those plus dont call it ready meal, i agree

I think there is a real gap in the market for ready meal s using free range chicken. Very difficult to find. Likewise things like chicken kiev.
Probably a pricing issue, but I would pay more. And I'm always looking for things that say free range eggs rather than barn eggs. I do think that allows you to charge more.
Anything like that you can incorp is bound to help.

You can sometimes buy egg sandwiches made with free range eggs, but the same label will use chicken which isn't free range.

Been thinking about this! Is there a local organisation for promoting locally produced food, for instance we have Heart of England Fine Foods around here, and I am pretty sure that most areas would have their own. Also the local Chamber of Commerce would know.
Also contact the local County Council and ask who does Business Link and if there are any grants/practical help for small business starting up. DEFRA has some grant schemes too. There is always the Prince's Trust - a local cafe owner got started with a grant from there.
There is help available, even if you don't want to apply for a grant and all the hoops that have to be jumped through, just getting the advice might be very useful.
