Hi,
I'm looking to go on some of the courses held by Kelly and her team.
Could anyone recommend the best place to start for someone with limited confidence both in herself and her capabilities with horses?
Also, would anyone be able to tell me the difference between the regular courses and the "travel saving" courses?
Many thanks,
Beth

I've actually just seen the Perfect Confidence course. I might start there, and work my way up! Or maybe just "feel the fear and do it anyway" with the 5 day course!

'Feel the fear and do it anyway'! To be honest, your confidence will be both tested and boosted with both courses alike. The content is quite similiar in some respects. On both courses you'll have some of my fantastic co-RAs teaching, and we all have experience of working with confidence wobbles. I'd say that one advantage of the 5 day course is that you will have more time to consolidate your new found confidence and newly learned skills. If you can, I'd go for it!

Thank You Liz, i'll definitely be keeping that advice in mind.
I have to admit (somewhat shamed-facedly) one of the things i am most concerned about is the initial meeting new people! I'm sure that everyone is the same!!

Hi Yes your right! everyone is the same, especially on the courses, everyone has lots to learn, everyone, everyone has different specific targets but then you get there and realise you were wrong actually and you didn't lack confidence, just knowledge, or you did know how to do such a thing but didn't trust yourself. On the 5 day course the transformation in people day by day is fantastic. Each day is different but similar, and as each day goes by (much too quickly) all the pieces slot together and honestly, by the end of the week, you'll think you can tell Monty how to do join up and will be wishing it was a 5 week course not 5 days! I've not done the confidence one so can't comment on that but on my 5 day foundation course there were people who were practically sick on the first day with nerves, people who later admitted they very very nearly didn't turn up on the day, who were very nervous, or very shy, or very lacking in confidence of their ability etc etc but by the end of the week, honestly, it was life changing and not just in their ability to do join up! But to chat, argue, defend their opinions, ask advice, everything and everyone came away with new friends! Everyone is incredibly supportive and I cannot recommend it enough, even if you just wanted to go and meet new people through a love of horses, it really is well worth it.. Book it now!!!!!!!!!!

I'm genuinely not sure which to do first!
I've always known i want to work with animals in some way, and lately, working with horses has completely captivated me... i'm totally considering working towards being an RA... just don't have the confidence in myself right now x

I haven't don't the confidence one, but really, you could start anywhere.. If you think you'd like to some day be an RA then I guess the foundation course is a very good starting place. Plus while on that you can ask questions of the different people, including those that do the confidence course! Only other thing I can suggest is to contact the office or one of the RA's involved directly and ask them! LizP has good advice (as always!!) above, and knows better than me! Maybe one has dates or location that suits better than the other, decide that way haha! Not very helpful, sorry! But any start point is a good place to start ;-)
