ceertainly a challenge and needs very experienced trainer. Was bought ill and in poor condition at the end of last summer, now vaccinated chipped wormed, teeth attended to and is well, but it is 1 step forwards 3 steps back. She is not in pain as she has had a bute test, just does not want to be ridden. she was left to forget it with the hope of restarting this spring but is far too much of a challenge for me. She has I think been a brood mare for most of her 13 years. she would be FTAGH if anyone really believes they have the skills to rehabilitate her. \i think she has been abused in the past and that is so much harder than a wild pony from scratch

Jackie is have sent you a PM. I have recently acquired the other pony that was advertised with yours back in 2012 Penylasgarn Marie.. She is also showing all the signs you describe above, very nervous, obviously not backed although i do know this pony has been 'in harness' and was apparently sold previously as a driving pony. Her passport is blank apart from original breeder and she was obviously a brood mare.. However she is very sweet, will not bite or kick even when scared and I was wondering if you managed to find anymore about your pony as they are related? I believe the original breeder had died in recent month?
I have basically rescued this pony and she has gained weight and is becoming more confident although I don't envisage her being suitable as a child's pony ... I took her on in the hope to handle her and find a suitable home as I only have a very small paddock here which means she is on her own and I really believe she would be feel better if she had company. I stable her at night and as the paddock is so muddy she goes out just a few hours a day but I do worry that she spends so much time on her own.
I was wondering how you got on with your pony and if you still have him? And if anyone has any suggestions for me I would be most grateful. I am located on the welsh/Shropshire border.
