She only has front shoes on anyway,Ive spoken to my farrier and he says her feet are very good and she should be fine without shoes,so hes going to come and take the other one off.Thankyou for all your contributions ,very useful, am going to look into the diet, she is on mollichaffe calmer and magnitude as she is a very good doer.

But jen1 and specialized, the feet are unlikely to be healthy when the shoes have just been taken off. I agree that healthy feet are less affected by damp.

megan, if she only has front shoes on at the moment and is comfy on her hinds, she should be ok. Be prepared to get some hoof boots so you can protect her feet but keep up the exercise. Have a browse on Phoenix horse barefoot forum phoenixhorse.myfastforum.org/Dietwise, I would swap the mollichaff to something unmollassed, Dengie and Top Spec both do unmollassed chaff, or look for a grass based chaff such as Readigrass. Also she doesn't seem to be getting any vitamins/minerals? Maybe a broad spectrum supplement or something like Baileys Lo-Cal would provide everything she needs without adding too many extra calories.
