I love stories like this - can't wait for the reunion pics. Make sure you have your camera at the ready Bernadette. I bet the guy can't believe his luck.
Hope Moose had a lovely birthday.

Well Mike arrived having made a 170 mile journey to see Moose. He went to Moose's stable where the delicious liquidized breakfast of very soggy pony nuts was being enjoyed and slobbered everywhere. He said Moose, Moose, Moose and Moose's ears flicked backwards and forwards. Moose was a bit confused, like he remembered the voice but not quite why. He walked to me and then went to Mike who's face was a picture, he was delighted to see his old pal. He told us how he'd bought Moose as a 4 year old with the intention of eventing him. Ian Stark had done some training of Moose and had then bought his full sister as he was impressed. So Moose did cross country first. He was very fast so then he was trained for point to point and then national hunt racing. He was sold in February 1988 age 10 after a race at Doncaster race course and Mike never saw him again. He brought photos of Moose doing cross country and racing. It was fabulous to see how our wonderful boy was when he was young and fit - I didn't meet him until he was 17. I've asked for permission to publish the pictures so if he says yes then I'll post them. Mike's partner took photos of their reunion and has put them on the Facebook page that we have for people to post pics/updates of loan horses. The page address is www.facebook.com/groups/7167797045/?ref=ts&fref=ts

Awww, those pics brought a tear to my eye. How wonderful to see Moose and his ex-owner together again, and doesn't Mike look thrilled to see him again.

Isn't that lovely, and for Mike to know his old friend is in good hands when so many aren't.

This is so lovely. What an amazing relationship and what love for a horse to search for him all these years later and make such a long journey. Makes me wonder how many of us would do that!
