Plenty of reasons there to avoid taking horses on the road, but no excuse for riders being uncivil unnecessarily.

It's always pretty much the same on there they come up from time to time. Most of them are ok about horse although all would rather we not ride on the roads (But then again I am sure we would all rather not too).
Then you get the few rude and abusive towards us. But any horse rider being rude does NOTHING for the rest of us. Not just the finger in this case, I am from a large yard and yesterday was hacking out and up the road was coming a car and three horse in front of it. I pulled in to let the horses move to let the car past. They didn't they pottered along at a snails pace refusing to move over even when they could and forced the car to wait longer than needed and to make it worse there then was also a car coming head on that had to pull in behind me. The car was polite and waited, and as it past them not even a flicker of a thank you!!
I was so embarrassed! I thanks then all from my pony stood out of the way! I know these horses and riders too and it had nothing to do with control only lack of manners! Makes me so cross.. A thank you cost nothing but it could save lives!
