Working livery, and experiences?

Hi, just wondering if people have a rough idea of how much you pay for working livery, considering this as an option for my 2 boys, as can't afford full livery, and got a newborn so DIY is not an option at the moment.

My first pony was on working livery when we first got him, still cost £20 per week (given her full livery was £120 back then it was a bargain). I do know people in the NW who pay a similar amount for working livery, essentially full livery, but their horses are good and use a lot in the school.

I personally would never put a horse on working livery again. But if it works for you, then that's fine.

Doesn't often work 1 of my liveries used to do it pony over worked under paid, owner could never ride , yards figures did not add up , so all ponies were overworked,

would never put any of mine on working livery ever again. My old girl was on working livery years ago, her mouth was ruined, and despite me saying no novices on her (she is pure bred arab) they put the most inexperienced riders on her. The last straw was when I had got back from a College expedition to Morocco, and went to the yard to see her..found she was on a lesson and walked in to hear the instructor tell the brat who was on my horse to 'crack it one' needless to say brat was dragged off, instructor was flattened (literally) and my poor mare was marched out of there PDQ. Her mouth was cracked and sore and they weren't even using her own saddle!!!!

Never again.

Very open to abuse, I am sure there are many cases when it works fine but I would not do it with one of mine - although my sister runs a riding school and most of her school horses are working liveries and it works for her.
