This is my rising two year old lad I bought back earlier in the winter, I am hoping to find him a permenant home in the longterm but while he is with me would like to take him to some local shows, he is chaps passported and is welsh c x american paint, although I question if the sire was actually a traditional as hes so much bone and feather that his mother doesnt have. How should I present him for the show ring youngstock and coloured classes?

Well for local shows it's up to you really, you can either leave him as he is and show him as a Traditional Coloured, or you can pull and plait him and show him as though a Welsh Part Bred. It depends what you want him to be when he grows up I suppose- if you're gonna pull and trim him anyway he may as well get used to it but if you want him au natural then there's no point. Personally I'd go for plaited but there seems to be more of a trend for long manes etc these days!
