IH workshop with Sarah Weston in West Sussex
Saturday 8th December 2012, 10 - 4.30 approx. (Weather permitting).
I'm holding an IH workshop at my house, near Worthing. This will be an opportunity to meet and handle my 2 newly acquired NF foals, and practice any aspects of groundwork, eg. leading, longreining, despooking, clicker training etc. that you would like to with my older ponies, and the help of an experienced RA.
I have 5 ponies ranging in age and experience from Tor, 3YO shetland x, 11hh, who has done v little, but loads and leads politely, to Raffles 23YO NF 14.2hh, well mannered, experienced ex-PC pony. They are all about 14hh, except Tor, well mannered but always room for improvement.
The approximate cost of the day will be £80 - £100 depending on how many people come. There will be a maximum of 4 places.
Working with semi-feral foals is a wonderfully, humbling and uplifting experience, as they overcome their natural fear of humans, and start to trust you.
Please pm me for more details, or if you would like to come.
I've organised this workshop as it is what I would like to take part in. I took part in the 5 day course last year for my own interest, and would love to go back and another course, but finding the time, money and concentration is not easy. I'm sure I've forgotten most of what was covered. I'm not aiming to take any of the exams, but would like a refresher day every so often, and the chance to meet, work with and watch other IHer's and RA's at work. I would enjoy and learn a lot from such a day, and I'm sure there must other IHer's in the same situation. If you are holding a similar event at your yard/field, I'd love to come and join in.
