(looking for a friend. But as pony will be in my care like there current one is, i'm helping them look)
Tentively looking right now as need to sell current pony before having space for a new one but worth knowing what is around.
Will be looking for a suitable first pony who small rider able to walk, trot, canter & jump but has had her confidence knocked by another pony.
Between 12-13hh prefered.. however will consider slightly out of that range as long as suitable for small, lightweight 10 yr old (she is still riding miniature shetlands currently! lol)
Any age up to around a max of 20 (however slightly older with no health issues may be considered)
Must have no history of laminitis (or come with clean xrays to show no rotation) or health issues (minor aliments considered, just nothing that is going to cost a lot in vet bills!)
Must be 110% to handle, can deal with little quirks like catching, loading etc but must be safe for kids to handle & be around, including loose in the field.
Good to ride off lead rein, doesn't need to hack out alone as will proberly never be asked that, but no buckers, rearers, bolter, biters etc
And must be good with smaller ponies.. as will be living with a herd of miniature shetlands!
Will need to live out all year round but will be rugged in winter & get hard feed/hay if needed.
Must be available on minimum of 6 month loan with view to buy (will have a budget) just so we know the pony is suitable, after current pony is not suitable (and came in foal! lol)
Will be given a 5* long term home where it will want for nothing, recieve lots of attention from devoted child under experienced parents supervision.
Would need to be local to dorset/hampshire though as no transport.
