I am very lucky around here. I have a fab tack shop, and a few OK ones too.
My fav tack shop I have been visiting for 12 years, they order me anything I want in, and take it back if its not right even if it was a order just for me, they have a rug cleaner on site, and a saddler too. The customer service is second to none. They all know me by name and I am offer a cuppa if I want one they will spend hours talking me through products that I think I might want to use, often let me take things with out paying such as two rugs to try for size etc.
They have a loyalty scheme that see me getting at me about £40 min a year in cash to spend there, they have amazing sales twice a year... So for anyone in Milton Keynes RB Equestrian is fab! ;D
We also have a large Horsatack sore here too, although the service isn't always great and returning a product is a bit of a nightmare.. They do at least have a fairly good stock in.

clipclop - my OP wasn't about Countrywide, it's about a local store near me that only has two branches.

Feel a bit put out now as I can't get service like that. My local shop, 200yds from field lets me take stuff when I forget my purse and pay next time I'm in, suggests I take headcollar/bit/bridle etc to try for size and pay if I want it though they are cheeky enough to like it back clean if it's not the right size, they order any food I want, go to great lengths searching all their catalogues for the right bit. I must be doing something wrong! ;D Sounds like the shop I use ;-)

I shop at the same tack shop as ladyndibs, so have a fab experience so can't compare Must be a Kent 'thing' as mine is same They couldn't be more helpful or friendly and when I buy feed they immediately re-order so what I want is always in stock. Good prices as well.

Its a shame for countrywide as most of the staff i have met do their best and the company lets them down. It will lose them alot of customers. I cant wait months for important weight maintaining feed for my old mare or a new riding hat that fits so they will lose my custom amoung many others for the same reasons
