Well, it is actually his fifth Christmas - but his first with me and I'm almost 100% positive it is the first Christmas he has spent opening presents rather than roaming wild on the New Forest! Disclaimer: I am totally soft, I know. I brought presents for the rest of my family and friends so I just had to buy for Pete too! Also, please ignore the state of me - drinking Christmas Eve, getting home at a ridiculous hour and getting up to open presents with my pony does not result in me looking remotely decent in photo's! "Seriously Mum, they say handmade horse treats .. let me at them!" "Just checking you spelt my name right on this name plate. I know you aren't as clever as me" And one from Christmas morning, hanging out with one of his friends ... 'You are certain you understand to put extra carrots in my feed? It is Christmas after all'

Looks like he very much enjoyed his Christmas pressies, lucky boy. Mine had to make do with apple and carrot, and the xmas lunch peelings in their feeds.

Hi Sophie, did you buy Pete off a lady called Frances? Sarah x I did yes! Do you know him? I know he had a very IH start to life as he was backed at Ian V's. Would be such a small world if you did - would love it if you remembered 'baby' Pete ;D I still email Frances photo's and updates of him - she is a lovely lady. I am super pleased with him today - we had our first canter, such a small thing for lots of people, but a big step for us (well me, pete demonstrates his ability to canter every day in the field) still smiling about it now ;D

Excellent. How nice to know he has an IH home. In fact it was me and my rider Julie that started him before he went off up to Ian's to carry on. I have some photos of him here with us. Such a lovely pony. Frances said that he had got a really nice owner and see, it's true!

Oh wow, I didn't realise you had started him - how exciting! If you ever. have a chance to dig out the photos I would love to see them He is just the best pony ever - with such a personality! - but he is absolutely adored here. and so glad we took the chance on him as he was strictly speaking a bit too. green and I wasn't sure I was good enough to bring him on, but Im so glad I did. It is funny how fate works ;D
