Rose grey is just another word for a shade of grey! It's almost impossible to predict what shade of grey at this point - some horses go a lovely dapple grey, some rose grey, some fleabitten.
Eventually, every grey horse will end up snowy white, if it lives long enough! They tend to grey at different rates - some are white very young, some take many many years to get there.
So that is the only guarantee! If this horse lives to be old enough, one day it will be snowy white. Who knows what shades of grey it will achieve along the way.

Well I don't think anyone can know for definite whether she will be rose grey or not. All grey is interesting IMO as it's ever changing and no 2 processes are ever the same

Yep, my boy is buckskin going grey and I'm loving watching the change. From a distance he still looks buckskin but as you ger closer you can see the white hairs coming through. Closer still and you see dark grey hairs and if you brush his hair the wrong direction then it is almost black at the routes.

I'm still expecting my buckskin to go grey but no sign yet...he's a may foal

He's 2.5 years so is taking his time about changing! He started to show signs of going grey at about 5 months. What makes you think your foal will be grey?

I found this really interesting, I have two flea bitten greys, so assuming they live long enough they will turn white or have they already been white at an earlier stage of their lives?

If you want a really interesting changing colour time line look at these! She was born september 2008, the photos are chronological. I think most of them have dates underneath. Its set as public, so it should be viewable to all. www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150116932740082.395468.671565081&type=1if not, and if anyones interested, maybe someone can put some on photobucket (cant on work computer!)

I think you have to be logged into your own FB, but then it should work.
