Well...that was interesting. Very non invasive and all very relaxed. Some very obvious very hot spots but more interestingly a particularly cold spot on top of her rump..... And some alarmingly extreme hot areas on her spine at saddle area. If my badly made brand new saddle has cause more damage than I thought then there's going to be hell to pay. I must stay away from online images now or I'll make myself sick with worry, cause I did see identical images last night of kissing spine cases...... Report within a week hopefully....

Hi,
At least you have some clues now, although I am not sure I would be as brave as you have been. I guess it could be pretty traumatic if indications are there are problems that you were not aware of. Would love to get myself thermographed, although that might be a bit scary too!
Were you provided with any interpretation of the hot/cold spots?

Only unofficial ones. Have to wait for veterinary report as they send it to two vets to interpret. But the cold dark area on her rump-where top of pelvis meets-could signify nerves or ligaments damaged, probably beyond repair after a year.... There was obvious areas of muscle inflammation where I would expect, between hind legs, but also on her shoulder. The images of her spine really jumped out and combined with muscle waste only now becoming obvious in that area it's quite worrying. There was no sign of damage to muscle there, nor sign to suggest there was much of a problem there before today because she's not been ridden for 15 months bar a few steps in walk because I couldn't resist while doing I hand work!! The vertebrae were each clearly visible as a very red/white which is very hot and increased blood flow and basically without expert opinion yet, points to a pretty serious looking spinal problem... I'm not brave, I'm eating a lot of chocolate, smoking twice as much and had a good long cry yesterday!
