I have my gorgeous filly not insured at the moment and my broodmare, I have 3rd part insurance through the BHS just really worried if they were stolen from me I would have no insurance cover to help recover them, is it worth having insurance for one so young and one that never leaves the yard if it is what is the cheapest type and who with as I am not working at the moment and money is very tight?

Does insurance actually cover the cost of trying to recover a lost horse? I think you may find some will pay out only once the horse is dead or not expected to be recovered. Cheap is not going to be the best - you really need to study the policies to see what is covered and what exclusions are in force.

Thanks guys, as I understood it most insurance companies will help advertise that your horse is lost, I know scottish equestrian do, not too worried on payout after as it would be their return I would want nothing more.
