Sorry, but I think you need to get a bit of a reality check here. You need to get a permit to actually work in Canada, and they are hard to come by if you do not have a skill that they are looking for. Otherwise you will not be allowed to work at all - not even in bars or supermarkets. Secondly, the cost of transporting horses and dogs across to Canada will run into thousands and thousands of pounds. It will cost *at least* £7000 per horse to travel them to canada. No idea how much for a dog. You would also need to have sorted out your accommodation, human and equine etc etc etc. Sounds to me like you are completely fed up at the moment and feeling very trapped. You wouldn't want to hear my advice anyway so I'm not going to offer any.

Why not look into other areas of this country where there may be work that you're looking for?

I do know someone who emigrated with their cat, could not settle and came back after her dad paid for the cat to come back and all quarantine costs etc... I would make sure that you have a job, a home and want to stay before you move your animals to an uncertain future. OK, this is not Canada I am talking about here..

Thing is, you know we re looking at Europe. We will only go if OHs job package is right, and that includes relocating us. We won't sell our house, we ll rent it out and rent.
I'll leave my pony on full livery, probaby including excersise until I've found him a place and got him organised. It's a long drive and I assume will cost a few k anyway to get him there. But we ll only go if the overall package doesn't leave us too poor to all come back!
Going somewhere on spec with animals or children is super tough, children are probably actually easier!
