I've just got back from seeing a preview screening at the cinema. It was utterly breathtaking. That is all....!!! Attachments:

Will we need tissues? (I cried through the stage version from when the foal came on- although was a touch emotional as was expecting my first foal).

Tissues? Absolutely. I went with a friend and we both cried through the film.
Without a word of a lie, I came out of the cinema literally shaking. We both did.
It is, far and away, the best film I've seen at the cinema this year.

Daz, I can only imagine what you how you feel after watching it, and your two posts are very descriptive. Am I right in saying it possibly touches each emotion and has given you plenty to think about? (I was late arriving for the film today and it was already full so will have to wait til January now)

Uh-oh! I'm kind of looking forward and dreading it because I know I will be in bits I have always been totally over emotional at animal films/programs/even adverts! (ie the Dogs Trust one about the dogs being abandoned.) I cry at the happy bits, sob at the sad bits, get really angry at any violence (I know it's acting, just get carried away ;D ) I'll be a basket case by the end of War Horse ;D

I hope its better than the book then! I was really disappointed with the book, it could have been made in a black beauty type warhorse book.

It's based on both the book and the show. The screenplay was written by Richard Curtis (Blackadder Goes Forth) and Lee Hall (Billy Elliot). I actually forgot that I'd even read the book, so some things in the film affected me even more than I might have thought. I've written a review of the film on the Empire website - feel free to have a look: www.empireonline.com/forum/tm.asp?m=3274681
