............ and brought all the horses in for the night ;D
The weather on Thursday was awful here, and when I arrived all 5 horses on my yard were huddled by the gate looking thoroughly wet and miserable. Poor Blaze's rug was soaked right through and the ponies. who were still naked. were all tucked up. Jasmine. the TB. was the only one dry, warm as toast and totally unbothered.
Spent the next hour bedding down 5 stables, doing ten haynets, filling water buckets and texting my two yardmates to make sure they didn't mind theirs coming in!
Getting them in was fun! ;D Put my hard hat and gloves on first, got my two girls, tied them outside the stables, changed rugs and picked out feet, avoiding leg flinging from Jas and Blaze stomping back and forth because the rest of 'her' herd were going nuts in the field.
Poked them in, then got Salsa (TeenaE's) who jumps around like a cricket on a string. She 'had' to stand with her head in Jas's stable while I did her feet (they are in love )
Then I had to get Clayton, the QH and his lady love, Shania, the NF. Clayton was easy enough but Shania was tipped over the edge by now as she had been seperated from the Boss (Blaze) for 15 mins and was about to go into meltdown ;D
In the end, I just opened the gate and let her make her own way, in front of us, and when I heard the outraged squeals of disgust I guessed she had found Blaze (who will only share her personal space with Jasmine ;D )
Just got them all comfy when Carol, who owns Clayton and Shania, arrived. 'Thought you might need help' she said ;D ;D
By this time I'm filthy, wet, sweaty and covered in hay bits!
So Carol made me coffee and helped sweep up. I think they all enjoyed their night in and were really chilled on Saturday morning.
I know I am a wuss and they would probably have been fine out, but at least they all had a chance to dry their feet off and stretch out in the thick fluffy straw and..... I'm convincing myself! ;D
