On Sunday.
I have been fortunate to have been gifted a couple of tickets to watch WarHorse at the cinema on Sunday. I have a feeling it will be an emotional rollercoaster.
(Unsure which smiley to click on, I think it may be all of them).
Actually I cant wait but will be taking lots of tissues. ;D
And how strange it will seem going to the cinema at 10.30am too.

Lucky you! Hope you enjoy the experience, and I'm sure that tissues will be well-used.
Here in the South West we have been following the film with particular interest as many of the scenes were filmed on Dartmoor and in the surrounding area.

Cried at the book, sobbed at the theatre not sure whether to go to the cinema, I'm not sure there are enough tissues in a kleenex factory.
Its not just the poor horses that gets me it's the whole futility of war. But I know one thing, I owe my freedom to the men, women, horses and all those that made a sacrifice in both the 1st and 2nd WW.
If a few tears shows my gratitude then its a small price. Hitler had some terrible plans for the Scottish people and some of the smaller minorities in England, Wales and Ireland so I shiver to think what would have happened to this country if he had won.
They say it only takes 3 generations to forget but I really hope we never repeat the mistakes of the past and that films like war horse (although mostly fictional, apart from the horses that is) keeps the memories of the horror of war alive - maybe those young people who rioted or think the country owe them a living should be taken to see films like this!!

YOu are so brave...I haven't been able to read the book, or go to the theatre, let alone watch it at the Movie. There wouldn't be enough water in my body to cope with the constant, loud, embarrassing sobbing and hiccuping from the first scene right through to the end. And my husband would be no better than me so we'd just make each other worse!

Well, didn't see it. We were a few minutes late getting into the cinema because we took a wrong turn into the carpark, so had to go round the ring road again to get in correctly. If there were seats they would have let us in, but the cinema was absolutely full, we saw the people watching the movie on a screen, they were all fixated on their screen showing warhorse, no one seemed to be moving at all, just watching. The film was also started early (about half an hour early) as the people were all there. So didnt really stand a chance, but hey, I get to keep my tissues for January when it is released. I ate the chocolate on the way home. TTx

I'm with Lisa, it would be too much for me, I did get an offer of tickets through WHW but I just don't want to watch it, would give me nightmares like some of the welfare photos do.

I saw it on stage and it was brilliant but it had a happy ending. Can't cope with sad endings at the moment but hope you enjoy it.
