My sealskinz waterproof gloves, fantastic protection when dealing with icy troughs, put up with all sorts of punishment. Mountin Horse protective jodpur boots. I get through roughly a pair a year, only ever had one pair that the soles failed and they were replaced without question. Keep my feet dry, tough enough for yard and fencing tasks, suitable for riding. Waterproof fleece lined chaps cos I am getting old and nesh

A must over here for me is a long coat for chores. The wind and rain is horrendous (often horizontal) and wet legs make me so cold and miserable. A balaclava or two. Long ski socks. I am not a fashionista these days.

1) Racesafe body protector. It’s so comfortable, fits perfectly and it never hampers my reactions as it provides excellent flexability. Never ride without it.
2) Mountain Horse body guard jacket – Extremely comfortable to wear and well fitting and very warm. I use this when working on the ground rather than wearing a full body protector and its also ideal for having fun with winter sports whilst remaining safe.
3) Hi Viz Full Winter Coat (no brand, purchased from my local farmers co-op), waterproof, windproof and very warm and an ideal item to be seen in the dark alongside all my other hi-viz gear both for myself and my horse. Also my hi-viz tabard (Again no brand), but ideal for those warmer days when a coat is not required.

Le Chameau wellies - mine have lasted for 12 years!!! Amazing quality and really comfy Eurostar breeches - love the quality of these breeches, hardwearing and really comfy - expensive but worth every penny Dubarry boots - I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Dubarrys - wanted them for goodness knows how many years and finally got them at Badders this year - they are just so comfortable and so warm - I now want another pair so I can keep some for best and wear my current ones day in day out at the yard.

1) Joules gillet. I actually don't know how I survived without it! It's quite snug fitting so it's flattering, but isn't restrictive in any way so I can barely feel that I'm wearing it. Can wear it just over a tshirt or thin fleece on a normal day, or it fits nicely under my riding coat for an extra layer. Brilliant.
2) Harry Hall riding hat. Had it for years and still looks great, dead comfy and my head never overheats.
3) Thermal socks!
