Untitled by Luckyred1, on Flickr This is Neo - chilled and relaxed at his first Meet Untitled by Luckyred1, on Flickr This is Annabelle on JB (the Bay) and me on Neo (the black) I thought you would like to see some photos of my new boy Neo at his first Meet - he was pretty close to being angelic and behaved himself perfectly (for a wee lad who was 4 last May and who I've only had since the end of August). It was Annabelles first Meet too and her boy JB behaved himself well too - so gold stars all round for the horses! Hunting with SSB by Luckyred1, on Flickr The disadvantage of a bay and a black is that they are difficult to see in distant photos!

Oh, and to anyone who disagrees with hunting, this is a bloodhound pack and we hunt the scent of a cross country runner!

He looks lovely! Well done Neo and JB! I've never been hunting, that sounds like great fun, with bloodhounds and a runner. Would love to have a go with Blaze, she gets mega excited when our local hunt pass by the yard ;D

It should also be pointed out that the cross country runner is in on it . . . apparently you are not allowed to hunt random passing ones :-)

What a lovely man he is LR, there's something special about black horses for me. What good horses on their first meet. Great bond you must already have forged with Neo, best of luck for your future together.

You've all been so nice about him that I won't tell you he managed to get me off during a lesson on saturday! It was a lesson in a big field with 4 horses and the point was to get your horse trotting then cantering steadily about 3 - 5 lengths behind the horse in front. Neo had a major strop because I wouldn't let him race to the front. I managed to control his bucking and keep him in trot for 3 sides of the field but the last side is down hill and he won that discussion with me making an unscheduled dismount! No harm done (other than ego) and eventually he was trotting and cantering steadily behind the other horses!
I'll let Annabelle tell you how JB behaved!
Hunting definately made both of them forward going!

oohhh! isn't he a handsome boy?! And a good one too! Was thinking about hunting Rosie this winter until the little monster broke the trailer in one of her mega stroppy madam moments!
