send her all your love, about 10.30,bille has been a brilliant mum to both Fleur and tom and all the waifs we have had over the years,a good teacher of what herd dynamics are for me, i just feel the time is right, she has dropped weight more that she ever has, spooks more than she ever has ,vet says her eyes are not so good, good enough but not good, she walks very unstable on wet floors, i feel a right cow atm, to let her go with dignity is what im thinking, putting off the inevitable for my sake isnt the right thing to do, still dunt make it easy , will Fleur and tom and the rest ever forgive me, she will be left out in the field so they can all say their goodbyes and buried at home, she is 25 ish now , i dont want her to get any more tired that she is now, spritly in her own way but this is a mad tb mare who took over my life some years ago, i think she has had a good life seeing her babies grow, no nastiness its not my wish to see her suffer another winter ,

Hugs Jen. The others will forgive you because you're doing her a kindness. She's clearly had a wonderful life with you and this is the last kind thing you can do, not to make her suffer through a winter for your own benefit. Big hugs xx

I think you're making the right decision Jen - well done for doing so, as many people aren't as responsible as you are. Enjoy the rest of your time with this special lady. xxx

Currently going through the same for Cosworth, although we haven't agreed on a date yet. You're doing just the right thing, when they are not coping with life well any more we must put our own feelings aside and let them go with kindness and dignity. I know how you're feeling, it's rubbish isn't it...

Thankyou, she is coping ,but not as well as she used to, she is also absessing , i just don't want to get to that stage of having to do it through ill health , if it froze up on the farm , there would be no way of getting her down and in, hence why i think the time should be now,

Awwww Jen what a totally unselfish act you are doing. I know how much she means to you and how much you will be beating yourself up over this decision It looks like we are in for a very harsh winter and by the sounds of things she will be as miserable as sin. She has had a top home and total respect from her owner during her life with you.......... let her go with dignity. Will be thinking about you all {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}

Awhh Jen, you've made me cry as I only had to let my oldie go on 14th November. I had booked the date in September but she had a reprieve to wait and see, but it wasn't to be..
Will be thinking of you at 10:30am tomorrow, much love to Billie, Fleur and Tom, and sending extra strength and hugs for tomorrow. Its never easy, and is not nice, but we are doing the last act of kindness for them, by releasing them before things get too much for them.

Thinking of you Jen...such a brave thing you're doing and the other horses will understand because you're doing what's best for Fleur. I had to make the same decision last year for my old girl and it was really hard, but I know it was the right thing to do. xx

Keep a dose of happy memories ready to take, then be brave and know it's doing what you've always done, the very best for your horse.
