In East Sussex we paid £5 a small bale delivered. They're small and light bales, I'd be very surprised if most of them are 20kgs. That was the price in the summer when we bought in bulk.
Last winter you just couldn't actually get any so I had to choose from small heston bales for £50 (crap quality) or £80 (decent quality) or horsehage at £7.50, I went for the latter!

£3.50 a small bale delivered from the farm I rent my stables/fields (Essex) same price as last yr They do have some gorgeous lovely lovely hay but its too rich so I sent it back and am using dry stalky stuff which I soak for 12 hours due to my boys delicate tummy suits him better The old sheep on the farm are therefore eating the rather lush nice stuff !

we made our own small bales this year at about £1.50 per bale . they are very heavy and I am staggering about moving them! Hay local to me here in very south Devon is about £4 per bale delivered.

I paid £3.50 (small bale) from a local farmer, delivered. Excellent quality.
There was a piece on the local BBC TV Spotlight programme last week about the price of hay in the area (we don't have a lot of news down here!), and they were quoting £5-£7 per small bale.
Edited to add that we're in cornwall (doh!)

I make my own hay and sell the small bales for £3.75, collect only. It's lovely quality, dust free, weed free and cut when the sun was at its best in June.
Anyone interested in buying some, I am based near Newcastle Emlyn, West Wales.
