Is she chestnut with flaxen mane and tail or is she palomino? Passport says palomino but that means nothing, we flipped a coin haha! The White spots only developed over the last year, she has a few on her neck too, she's 6 or 7, I forget...!!! Attachments:

Well, I would say chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. Either way she's beautiful. I always wanted a pony that colour. I've got a chestnut horse now; Pascal has funny white blobs too.

Palomino ,Chestnut with flaxen mane and tail would be the colour of a chestnut horse .

Is she parentage unknown - that would be the clue, if one of the parents were dilute.

She looks chestnut flaxen to me. Definite red rather than golden tinge to the coat over the shoulder and the mane isn't as white as a palomino's should be.
Do you know what breed she is? She is lovely either way

I think she is a light chestnut with flaxen mane and tail. Her mane and tail definitely look flaxen rather than white as they would be if she was a palomino. But to be sure I think you would have to test for the cream gene. Unless you know here parentage either breed or what colours they were? If for instance she is off two chestnuts then she has to be chestnut and is she was out of a Haflinger mare by a non dilute coloured stallion then she would also be chestnut. If she is off a chestnut and a palomino you would still have to test to be sure. If you were planning to breed from her you would need to test her unless you either are using a non dilute stallion or you want a blue eyed cream

Muffin is described on his passport as palomino... In summer he is a sort of chestnut roan And in winter bright chestnut with a flaxen mane & tail.. ..... You decide!

I say she was Chestnut/Flaxen, but either way she is lovely. I too have a Chestnut/Flaxen and they are absolutely stunning too look at. He's below in my signature pictures. Not a very good photo but he's gorgeous.

DM she looks like a chestnut sabino to me Wow! You learn something new every day. I'd never heard of 'sabino'. But having Googled it I'd agree, that is exactly what Muffin is. I have also realised that although Red is passported as 'Chestnut Tobiano' he is actually tobiano & sabino as his red patches are roaned at the edges.

Hehehe I don't know her breeding! She came from a dealer. Here is her winter coat so!!!!! When I got her a few years ago she was a lot lighter.... She is in foal to a bay stallion....so, if she has a dilute gene we might know in june!!!! Please excuse the mud! She is a bit wet so looks even darker, but I originally thought palomino, now I'm guessing it's got to be chestnut... Attachments:
