no, horses sold with wrong passport from the stud How long ago Jackie? Seems odd that no vet has picked this up before or perhaps she has never seen a vet since leaving Ireland?

She's very pretty, must be a big relief to finally know who she really is

Update.... The mare has been positively ID's as Porthall Fifi, big thanks to the Irish Horse board who have asked me to send back my passport along with the verification evidence from the vet and they will give me the correct passport, and transfer her into my name. Thanks also to York Trading Standards and York Horse Sales, and her previous owner who have all co-operated fully in this. All together, it has cost me £5 for the transfer and that is all. Don't mind praising when it's due.

Glad you've had such a positive result, and know the right name for your mare.

Very pleased you have a result. Hope both York Auction and York TS have learnt from this Either the auction house or TS should be checking every horse for microchip and that passport matches horse

Have you been in touch with the stolen horse register and horsewatch - some guys turn up 3 - 4 years after they have gone missing. Like you say, it would be awful to fall in love with her only to have someone turn up and say she'd theirs.
(Very sweet, by the way)
