Any recommendationa gratefully recieved. Tx

Hi - not sure where you'll be staying but Hazelden In Mearnskirk is just on the edge of Glasgow and is very good- very professional run yard and only place i would consider. I have done extensive research re riding schools in recent months as I was looking for somewhere for my daughter. We are near kilmarnock and its a bout a 20 min drive from us. Their tel no is 0141 639 3011. They aren't cheap- I was paying £25 for a 30 min private lesson for her.

Thank you. I'll be staying in Irvine, will check out the drive. I'm used to London prices so not easily shocked Tx

Odd question but do you know if it's near any of the big shopping centres? It might mean I can bribe my taxi (mum!)...

Yes!! 5/10 minutes from Silverburn. I can give you directions to the riding school - if need be- if you have a sat nav then even easier but dead easy for your mum to drop you - and then back onto the motorway and a few mins to Silverburn, or Newton Mearns shopping centre is even closer- not huge but has a few nice wee shops and a coffee place.

Infact I have a friend in Newton Mearns... she used to come on the DG, you might not know her, but she would probably come too. I dont get to see her that often. How far is Irvine from Cumbernauld? There's a RS there, called Tannoch RS

Silverburn shopping centre is nice (and has free parking!)- I quite often use it when I'm down that way for work. A Scottish meet up is a great idea. X

Ah, nice idea but I've got the baby with me and I'm not sure why but my mum is convinced the baby won't settle with her so squeezing in a half hour lesson us going to be tricky enough! Baby will be fine but mums not the most confident with teeny tinies And I won't have a car... You guys should def go ahead tho
