It's definitely the horses Julz, I've seen them and Bracken came over the other day with pine fresh breath. Interesting Amanda, your post has got me even more intrigued about seasonal bark preferences.Great idea arabheaven. A branch falling off into the yard and being stripped of bark is what initially drew my attention to the pine bark eating atm.

Mine are eating elm, cherry, hawthorn and blackthorn, but that's all they can reach, apart from elderberry.

Mine have had access to some hawthorn and blackthorn but I've not noticed bark stripping. They could have been eating the small branches though.
