Well done!!!! I think thats a brilliant approach, specially given what the animal communicator said, a good firm rider with a backside made of superglue sounds like just the ticket!

yes he had very good stickability!! No he isn't wearing a hat, but, thats his choice & his risk, I did tell him what she was capable of and I did tell him to wear a hat, but, he is an adult. I neither would get on a horse without a hat, but he does it for a living and is used to riding all sorts of horses, most with behavioral problems, doesn't stop the risk but as said, his choice!! Thanks for all your comments guys xx

That's fantastic news - a great way to start the year! I'm not at all surprised at the bucks/rears at the beginning. After all, her memory is that riding hurts. Filling her memory with good experiences should do the trick, though. And yes, looking forwards to the pics of you riding her.

yes Liz thats so correct. I am still going to concentrate on Long lining and maybe have her ridden 2/3 times a week, but all very low key. What I liked about this bloke is he was very calm when she was rearing & bucking, no panic, no raised voice etc.
I am very keen to get Becky out though as she is more into the way I want nancy started, but I think this guy is ok with just getting her sat on and realising it doesn't hurt.

if it aint broke dont fix it! He is doing the job fine, just because you have an idealistic way of wanting her started doesnt mean that will work or suit her, just because it suits you. Thats something the AC said to me and it makes a lot of sense.

Rightly so Bertie but, she has to learn it no longer hurts, and there is no harm in having different ways of training as that will make her training and work more interesting. As long as the people helping are kind then there shouldn't be any harm done
