Lisa Bruin backed and kept my fell pony for his first 7 years and apparently he went out and did demo's with her. I have never met her, but have heard she is wonderful, and if my Tom is anything to go by, she must be good!!

where are you in yorkshire because there is a western instructor at the yard I'm at and we have a club called 'loose reins' where we get together once a month for a group training lesson and we do socials too. The guy uses his western horse if anyone doesn't have one to use. We are near Kirkby Lonsdale, south lakes.

im east yorkshire so think thats the wrong side?
This may sound a bit odd but I had an animal communicator a few weeks back and he said whinney would prefer more western style riding so Im interested to learn more about it and maybe have some lessons on whinney so to speak to learn how to ride her like it if that makes any sense!

I've only had a couple of western lessons with callum but he was great. He taught me how to get my fell to stop being lazy in the school and needing to keep my leg on all the time. Also how to ride on a contact - which I'm still working on!
I don't think it's odd to have a animal communicator, I had one to our tbx who was very cross at the time! He told us he was bored and wasn't doing enough work! At the time we were giving him a lot of physio and not riding him, and he was furious! She had no way of knowing that he wasn't being ridden. She was called Julie Rolls, I think she's from over your way.
Good luck with it, may as well give it a go.

I can vouch for Megan. Shes really good with people and horses. My horse is a stress head at times and she was great with us.

Yes but you need to be a member of WES I think, ask Margaret Kemp. The cost usually includes stable and 5 hrs of lessons (2 fri, 2 sat 1 sun) just need hay and feed. ALso rooms on site are quite cheap too.

Oo say hello to Arlo when you see him next from Manda and Lucy. I have used Bruce for lessons for 5 years now. As he is 150 miles away, I have lessons on Dude, his horse for Birthdays, and aim to take my ponies there once a year for an intensive training session. I also organise a clinic up at mine ionce a year. so in total have about 4 lessons a year. Works for me as I end up with a lots of homework to keep me busy, plus Bruce is also on the video analysis site so can send vids to get feed back on.
ALso the WES area 5 have a good few member days that are free or very low cost to cover tea and coffee where the more experienced members help the more novicy members and ideas are swopped. I am in the process of sorting dates for Lancashire to have more member days, demos, shows etc.
Sorry catg, never had a lesson with David, but have heard lots of good stuff! Esp he like Bruce is great with nervous peeps at building confidence.
