We're having one put in next month, a 20x40 outdoor with a rubber surface. I can't wait, it means I can long line them in it and ride

At my last yard there was a 60x30 school, it was handy in winter as could ride in the dark! and it was the only place to canter in winter as the tracks would be awful! Handy for lessons especially jumping! Don't have one at new yard so hack out schooling now and seem to have made more progress! have a small paddock too for schooling/long reining in summer which is fab

Matter of money... but we're having a digger man come over and look around.

20 x 45 metres, third is 6" deep pea gravel, rest is coarse sand, the lammi pair live in it during the day summer and winter, TB joins them in winter when ground is too wet (usually about 3 months) Shetlands go in there for exercise and games, OH drives in it and sometimes, I manage to find it empty and ride in it

Ours is 60x30 and is used every day. My girls ride almost every day and a lot of the liveries as well. It is used for schooling, jumping, musical rides, gymkhana games, loose schooling, obstacle course, long lining.... anything you can think of, apart from lunging as we have a round pen and use that for lunging as well to ensure the manege surface isn't damaged. We do hack out occasionaly but it is mostly lane riding and not that exciting especially as one of our two bridlepaths has needed a new bridge for years and the council haven't got round to it despite endless chivvying, and the other is normally hock deep!

Mine is about 80 feet X 160feet. I use it for ground work, and well... schooling. Also nice when your horse is just a little too fresh to jump on out go out the gate! I wasn to get a cutting flag set up in it so I can practice, but those are expensive. I can always dream.

20x40.
Honestly I wouldnt be without it. I love schooling, and really enjoy it, so I do school a couple of times a week. I work strange hours, so often have limited time to ride, so the school is brilliant. Dont get me wrong, I love hacking, but dressage is where my heart is!

smaller than 20 x 40, on a slope, with degraded old woodchip. looking on the bright side, it is on top of a hill, with a chalk base so drains well, and the slope soon teaches the horses to balance. and the woodchip is being dug out and replaced next week.
I use it for ground work, pole work, schooling, but probably only once/wk if I'm honest. hacking is direct in to the woods and I school on hacks.
