I can’t believe how quick this year has gone! We have enjoyed working with a wide variety of horses this year and had great fun on the courses held here at Old Shawls Farm. I went to France again teaching which has been brilliant especially as I am now doing more Children’s horsemanship courses now too. I taught recently at Hartsop on the Handling the Untouched Horse Courses, Ian’s new lecture room is nice and warm, perfect for tea breaks in between working with the horses. We have just prepared one of our horses in training to travel to her new home in France. We were worried how she would cope with the long journey and the ferry trip but she behaved beautifully and is now settling down in her new home. It was sad to see her go but knowing she is going to a brilliant new home made us feel better. Although I have been an RA for years saying goodbye to horses that have become friends is still tough. But I am planning on going back to France in March so will see her then. We made lots of good hay this year, which the horses at the farm are happily munching through at the moment. There is deep snow here and the mountains look amazing, it is definitely going to be a white Christmas this year! We have lots of exciting plans for next year so I will try and keep you up to date on here (my new years resolution perhaps!)
