I really want to see the stage show, but I don't know if it'll ever get up to my neck of the woods! However, the film should be out next year...

I was so pleased to see it! Can't wait for the film, some of it was filmed on Dartmoor too, very exciting!

I was privileged to see War Horse at the National Theatre when Kelly Monty and Pie did a platform event prior to the show. It was like nothing I've ever seen and Mr SS3 and I both said that it should be compulsory viewing for ALL horse lovers. It is magical and after 30 seconds you really DO forget that Joey is a puppet. As Kelly and the rest of us cried all the way through it, Monty said the silliest thing I've ever heard him say " It's only a puppet " he said ------------------Silly man, we all knew Joey was real ;D For those who have never been please make that extra effort to go see it. You will NEVER regret it

My mum loved it too and was sniffling next to me all the way through, she's not horsey at all (but loved Olympia too)! It's about the horse but it's also about that time during WW1 and I you can feel how hard and what a loss the war was on animal and human life. It's interesting reading the bit in the programme about how Michael Morpurgo came up with the book

I saw the making of it on tv last night and cried at that!! The free and loose way the horses move is totally astounding. I know I will howl like a banshy but am going to make the effort to save up and see it. Any idea when the film comes out?

I cried at the stage show when I saw it a couple of months ago. Had seen the documentary before but lasted about 3 min before I got misty eyed. Forced my patents to watch and they did concede it looked very moving and like a very powerful and sophisticated production (they don't do horses). So desperately hope it comes on tour up to Scotland.

Any idea when the film comes out? Although it's not the best source of facts in the world, Wikipedia reckons 28th of December 2011. However, given that it's Spielberg directing, I would say that's a definite.

SS could you put photo up here for me? I have this horse who is bred on just the same lines as Joey - when they saw it other for the first time it was extraordinary - like a mirror image!

Here you are Kelly. Banksy obviously realises that Joey is a relation ( and REAL ) ;D

Thanks SS3. So do you think Banksy will make a show hunter? As well as a Working Hunter for Daisy? And what about Joey?
