Hi everyone!
Finally officially joined IH after a lot of viewing and reading of IH material. My wife and I live in Devon, she has been riding since a small child whereas I have come to horses fairly late on! About 4 years ago we adopted 2x 6 month old rescue Dartmoor ponies (Spike and Saladin) as my wife was unsure whether her back problems were going to allow her to ride again (she had been out of riding ofr a good 10 years) but we both wanted some equine companions. About a year later Spike and Saladin were joined by Merlin and Arthur 2 miniature Shetland foals. Around this time I took the plunge and went on a week long riding course and was well and truly bitten by the bug. Earlier this year Jo (my wife) discovered that she could ride with only a little discomfort which coincided nicely with an acquaintance who wanted to sell their 11 year old 17hh Chestnut Hanovarian x KWPN gelding. Otto duly arrived at our place and proceeded to help my wife through a very bad illness she had this year. After much searching I was brought together with Tully, a 5 1/2 year old 17.1hh Irish Sports Horse mare who has an incredibly kind and willing nature, in May. Tully and I have since been away for 2 weeks intensive training together and are enjoying hacking with Jo and Otto as often as possible - suffice to say she looks after me and is teaching me to ride!!! ;D
Photos will follow when I work out how to do it!!!
...and here they are:
Spike and Saladin:
Merlin(Palomino) and Arthur (Blue Roan):
Tully (Bay) and Otto (Chestnut)
