Hey guys,
I was thinking about some fun stuff to do next year, and I wondered if anyone would be up for meeting somewhere for a hack and a bit of a pub lunch? Not sure of venues yet (need to find some horse friendly pubs and rides) but is this a good idea, in principle?
Jos and I are good hacking companions, usually - I talk for Britain, and he is very steady. Happy to walk or run, whatever suits.
Cheers
Mel and Jos ;D

Sounds fab, only trouble for me is I have no horsey transport so would depend where you were thinking? I believe there is a bhs ride near me on boxing day if anyone fancied that too? A friend had it mentioned in a bhs letter she got but I cant find any details on their website.

We could have a rolling travel around Yorkshire; those of us with transport come to where those without transport are (if you have good riding!!). We have nothing good near us, all roadwork and having precarious gallops on grass verges of B roads!! I'll have a look at some routes and see what we could do. I might even be a right saddo and do a map!!

Ah, now, you have read my mind! I was thinking this for our first meeting, as it is totally off road and we can be safe and sound!
There is a 6 mile beach bridleway near me as well, all off road. We could have an ice cream half way!
We can see about dates in the new year - best wait to see if the snow clears!

Escrick is between Selby and York bertie, on the A19. There is loads of just hacking as well, jumps optional I believe.

Wow that sounds ace! My pony is only lightly backed so I've got a lot to do but I'll keep my eye on this thread. I like Escrick, my friend trains his carriage driving ponies there before he drives them out on the road. I didn't know there was a fee though.
