ok how about somewhere bridgend/swansea/gower area? that's about half way to Llandeilo for me - if that's any help?
or going northwards a little on A 40 then Brecon?
or is that still too south east ?

Any of those are fine for me. I'm at the end of the M4 (J48) so Newport is no more than an hour away, Newtown is about 2 hrs thanks to twisty roads and lots of commercial traffic!

How about Brecon then?
It is a busy centre so roads to it must be fairly good for people and although not far up country must be a pretty good compromise?
I have only been there once so do not know of any pubs that we could use though!

Brecon is lovely would be easy access and Abergavenny is quite easy for everyone too.

I was born & raised in Abergavenny so can recommend a few nice places - just avoid it on tuesdas (market day ) non horsey venues: www.angelhotelabergavenny.com/ www.thehardwick.co.uk/or there are lots of cafe's in the town which are all quite nice - and there is the castle grounds for a picnic if it's a nice day just trying to think of horsey venues

I'm going to be a pain here - the only weekend date I can do in June is 28th or 29th. July I can do 5-6, 26th or 27th. 3/4 weekends in June are filled with horsey courses for me Deb x
