NIXON EQUINE VETERINARY PRACTICE & PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT CLINIC in
association with the British Equine Veterinary Association has
organized a 2-day Seminar at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre on 8th
and 9th February 2006.
Title: THE COMPETITION HORSE - THE OLYMPICS 2012
A unique Continuing Professional Development course for equine
veterinary surgeons and master class trainers and others interested
in a joint approach to the management of the Sports Horse.
Day 1 The Young Horse: its safe development
Veterinary speakers on structural development of the forelimb,
nutrition, conditioning and fittening along with an overview by Dr
Gerd Heuschmann, Bereiter and Equine Veterinarian, with in-hand and
ridden demonstrations by Suzanne Meisner, Meister Rider and Jenny
Loriston-Clark FBHS.
The British contributors are all of International repute: Simon
Curtis FWCF: Dr Pat Harris MRCVS: Professor Roger Smith MRCVS: Dr Sue
Dyson FRCVS: Andy Bathe MRCVS: Jenny Loriston-Clarke FBHS.
Day 2 The mature but "disappointing" horse
Recognition that there is a problem and where. Thoraco-lumbar and
Sacroiliac pain and Hindleg Lameness as well as Head, Neck and
Forelimb Disorders will be discussed in depth by eminent veterinary
surgeons with an overview of Under Performance by Dr Heuschmann,
again with ridden demonstrations of selected problems. Ridden
rehabilitation exercises will be demonstrated in Arena 2, or there is
a high level panel discussion in arena 1.
Throughout both days related static demonstrations will be on view.
Fees: £90 for the 2 days or £65 for 1 day which will include Course
Notes and hot beverages. A lunch will be available at cost price.
