Mine are really bad this year, and are rather swollen and bleeding as so cracked! It makes it worse when i go out on the scooter as have to have the visor up alot to see in the snow/fog so not healing - although now off for Xmas sure that will help!! Anyway, have tried Vaseline, Palmer's coca butter lip treatment & various other lip salves to little or no effect....help! Any ideas very gratefully appreciated!! (no mistletoe for me at the moment!!) ;D

The best thing I've found is Blistex relief cream I use it every night all year round and it keeps my lips really soft. I spend about 8 hours a day outside so it's been well tested!

I put Lipsyl on my lips every morning before I go to the yard and re apply, if I've got time, through the day. Just wished I could be more organised with my hands. They are sore and chapped and look like I've just dug the M42 with a shovel! Hope you get your lips sorted.

Hi Portiabuzz, if I get sore lips I use Lypsil too. I have arthritis in my hands, quite badly swollen knuckles and find the cold makes it worse, so aways wear gloves. I have one set for best and another for messing around with the horses. If they get wet I always have another dry pair available whilst drying the wet pair out. I hand poo pick with rubber gloves and at this time of year they tend to be stiff with cold in the morning so I sit on them in the Landy when driving to our field to warm them up! They are not in direct contact with me! Attachments:

I have used neutrogena lip balm for the last couple of years and found that it works well, it also doesn't seem to cause any irritation to my lips which I have found with some others.

That is what I do as well' it is at the side of the bed and I put some on every night, otherwise my lips get so sore. During the day I use chap stick when its cold it is much more effective than the other lipstick type ones I have found.

Another one that I like is Carmex - white pot with yellow lid. I suffer dreadfully with chapped lips. ALWAYS get them after an endurance ride, and having tried most lipbalms on offer, Carmex is the one I return to. Another suggestion (but VERY expensive) is the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream put on at bed time. Works a treat. £20 + a tube, but the one I'm only 2/3rds of the way through is about 3 years old so IS good value.

I use lip balm all year round, constantly, never met anyone else who does so would be very interested in meeting anyone else who does! Have done for years, my lips just feel weird and they get sore and dry feeling ? I usually use chapstick (cheap from the chemist) and probably apply every hour or so. Something I've found that is lovely is Aloe Lips - but the effect doesn't last very long. Burts bees is lovely too. I apparantly have the symptoms of a smoker/drug addict with my lip balm never without it - ever. panic if I don't have it or lose it and immediately desperatly need it. It's really weird but I'm used to it now (just reapplied this second!) xxx

I swear by Lush lipbalms - I'm currently using 'Let them eat cake', which is my favourite!

Another vote from me for Blistex Relief Cream. Great stuff and it really does work.
