Once again I really enjoyed teaching on the Handling the Untouched Horse Courses at Hartsop Farm in Whitney with Ian and Rosie. The reason I enjoyed it so much was because of the like mindedness of the students, all keen to learn the kindest most stress free ways of handling untouched and remedial horses. We had a interesting selection of horses from a very nervous New Forest Pony who we named Tommy, he came on leaps and bounds and learned that he could give a little trust to people. I think he became a favorite and was worked with in the following Leading and Loading course with Kelly and team. In this last course one of the horses was very traumatized and it was brilliant to see the students work along side each other under guidance/supervision to gain the horses trust to a point where they could halter her. There is something refreshing about being surrounded with people who have the same beliefs about kind and thoughtful horsemanship, that are open minded and willing to learn. I take my hat off to all on the Untouched courses, I really enjoyed meeting you all. Happy Trails John PS: A good quote from Monty "Learning should be an ever changing and never ending process"
