Bonnie, 16 years old 14hh Fell mare and Thomas 17 year old 14hh Fell gelding.
Bonnie hacked out 4/5 times week, anything from 3/4 hour to 21/2 hours; variable speed depending on weather.
Thomas - Largely a paddock potato, but exercised occaionally led from Bonnie.
Both out 24/7 365 days a year on very limited grazing.
Feed a.m. - 8lb hay net each (unsoaked) P.m. - 8lb unsoaked hay net again, plus handful of high fibre nuts, handful of Readigrass with Garlic and Benevit Advance added.
In winter more or less same as above with the addition of sugar beet, possibly extra hay if weather is cold, also slightly more access to grazing over winter months.

My 6yr old lives out and comes in once a day to have a break from the grass, heat or flies or to work or just for a cuddle or massage.
i give him a small feed just for coming in (hand full of H&P nuts and half scoop of hifi)
He's not fully backed yet.

I should add that they are Highland cattle and they are out on a mixed ley of meadow grasses and perrennial rye grass, not the lush ryegrass leys that you would put dairy cows on. in the winter dependimg on work and weather she also gets pony nuts and ad lib hay as well as 24 hour out with shelter. not generally rugged. I judge her pony nuts on her condition (feel but not see the ribs) and energy. she seems well on it and the vet is happy (sees her for regular health checks).

Field about 2 and and half acres good grazing, 2 cobs on about a bit more than half an acre. They have been separated since spring as Chevie, 14.1, 21 yr old Secton D was losing weight she didn't need to and Murphy, 14.3, 16yr cob, was gaining and needed to lose. He has the less good part of the area and I make mazes for him then give him little bits of new grass from inside when it grows so he thinks he is getting something and has kept his weight under control. They each get a couple of small handfuls of High Fi Lite plus Benevit and glucosomine, daily and Chevie gets a small handful veteran pasture mix, Murphy get a few grains of this! In the winter we strip graze, managed to have an area of fresh grass in January this year, we start feeding one slice hay each when we feel its necessary, then hay twice a day Jan to March, adjusting quantity for weather and field conditions. We weigh tape every week which helps us decide how much feed and grazing they get. They are hacked out 4 times a week, walk trot, canter, for at least 1 hour, sometimes longer. They live out 24/7 with a well used field shelter, Chevie is rugged in winter but Murphy was unrugged and did fine. Hope this is useful and not too long!

10 yr old 16.2 KWPN mare on 2hr turnout per day on grass (reasons for this). She is fed 1 sliver of hay at 6am, 2 feeds per day (morning and early evening) of 300g TopSpec AntiLam and 2 handfuls of Fiberge, 2 1/2ml Magnesium and sprinkling of salt (she will not touch salt licks - uses them to scratch her butt on). 1 sliver of hay at lunchtime and 2 slivers for the night.

16.1 heavyweight cob, 19 years old, weight around 700kgs - he's a big boy!
Fed twice a day. 1.5 scoops alfa a, 1.5 scoops pasture mix (D&H), 0.5 scoop conditioning nuts (show season only). Supplements: oil, mudgard and garlic. Haylage - approximately 1 section of the very large bales at night, with a top up around 9pm if needed.
Stabled at night and out during the day on reasonable grazing - 8am to 4pm.
Work - usually 5 days a week, 1 x 40 min schooling session, 2 x 15-20 minute lunges or long reins, 2 x 1-2 hour hacks. If showing at the weekend, he may have an extra day off per week and a lunge will be replaced with a schooling session in the double bridle ready for the show.

2 x 16hh (ish) TBs. Out 24/7 on short grass with no work. Access to salt lick. They're looking on the well side but their feet are cracking at the bottom so I'm about to start feeding baileys lo-cal balancer (half recommended amount) again. Will feed with a small amount of speedibeet to put calmag into.
1 x Paint yearling out on short grass 24/7 - recommended amount of baileys stud balancer.
In winter they will still be out 24/7 but will be given ad lib hay

Mine is 16.00 Morgan, a good doer.
Out on grass during the day, in at night with 3 wedges of soaked hay, plus 1 more wedge in the morning before turnout. Gets 1/2 kg Hi Fi Lite with Top Spec Comprehensive Balancer (half amount), 1 teaspoon Heavy Magnesium, mixed with soaked unmolassed sugar beet pulp, at night. Morning - 1/2 kg Hi Fi Lite, with 1/2 amount Top Spec supplement, mixed with soaked SBP. Not doing much work at the moment and is a bit fat, probably too much hay. When he is working I add soaked Blue Bag Grass Nuts, or even some Red Bag Grass Nuts, from Simple Systems - as this is a forage diet the grass nuts can be added when needed wthout any need for a gradual change in diet. Red Bag Nuts = rocket fuel.

Legend, 16.2 Anglo Arab, 18 yr old, ridden 4-5 times a week, hacking and dressage comps.
Full turnout with access to stables, grass (not high quality, ie, not loads of ryegrass!), plus 24lbs hay in winter, 1/3 1lt scoop hifi lite, 1/4 scoop unmollassed sugarbeet, half recommended measure Top Spec feed balancer, cider vinegar, half an apple and carrot, sliced.
William, 15.3 heavy cob, 20 yr old, no work, field ornament only as has arthritic legs and dodgy tendon. Same turnout, grass and hay, 1/3 scoop hifi lite, small handful of sugarbeet and 1/4 scoop of quiet mix, plus apple and carrot sliced. Also, 2 bute a day, which is why he has to have EXACTLY the same feed, otherwise he can taste it ;D.

4 Arabs, all live out all year round, all barefoot. All on very restricted area with very little grass, there is a track round the summer field at the moment which will gradually be increased in width and their winter field is around 3 acres or so. Summer grazing is at most 1.5 acres in total. Shantih - 11 year old Arab, hacking out 4 - 5 days a week for up to 2 hours. Fed soaked hay twice daily, one small scoop Happy Hoof twice daily and one 15 ml spoon of Magnesium twice a day. Rasheeka - 8 year old Arab, just being backed. Fed as Shantih. Shefali - 12 year old Arab, away at stud at the moment but when she comes home will be fed the same. Those three will also get Benevit Advance supplement when I get some more. Ayesha, 20 year old Arab, goes out for the odd short hack and walk. Fed 1/2 scoop (dry measure) of Alfa Beet twice a day (obviously soaked) and 1 rounded scoop of Build Up mix twice a day. She loses weight easily but has soaked hay with the others as she won't stay on the better grass on her own happily. I'd prefer her to have grass and less feed but she just walks around constantly when she's on her own and I can't put the others on with her as they'd get too fat Winter for the three younger ones doesn't vary much, they usually get 1 scoop of Kwik Beet soaked per day between them on top of the Happy Hoof, plus up to 2 bales of hay a day between the 4. Not sure whether Shef will come home in foal yet so not sure of her winter diet. Ash will probably change as she seems to be going off the Alfa Beet She'll still get the Build Up mix but will have something else soaked to go with it. I rarely weigh my feeds but will weigh a scoop of everything every couple of bags to check it's all more or less the same.
