Wow Sarah! Is that the same Jack I saw two weeks ago ......?! He was one of the wildest adult Foresters I have seen in a long time. Well done to you and to him. He`s a lovely looking pony. So pleased that he is "coming round" and that he might have a better future because of it.

He can now take 12 steps on the end of a lead rein too - daren't put any pressure on but he does follow my body language. Very very pleased with him.
I really wish I could take him to the demo for people to see how brilliant ponies can be when we open the right doors for them.
really looking forward to tomorrow,
Sarah x

Well just back from the Dorset demo. Had a great time, evening very informative and also great fun- doesnt information stick so much better when there is humour injected?!! ;D I had loads of interest in the ridden work we do with EE, I didnt get as much as a drink all evening because we were so inundated on the stand!!
Also lots of interest in my Fhoenix saddles. Great to see Rosie's riding so much improved- she has really put into practise what I taught her last year in only two days!- and demonstrating some of the 'rights and wrongs' that I have shown her in the teacher training- she does the second module next week.
Pie was looking fantastic, even though Kelly said he felt tired- his canter truly is to die for, I seldom see dressage horses with that degree of effortless collection- great stuff Kelly!!
Nice to see one or two familiar faces there, Yan, Sarah ( LuckyRed) and of course Sarah W, plus old friend Jane Van Lennep on the Simple Systems stand next to us, and nice to finally meet and put a face to Sam Austin, of Red Horse Products, the best hoof products on the market- wouldnt use anything else in our yard!
Thanks for the invite Kelly- thoroughly enjoyed it!! Thanks also to local EET Dr Lucie Evans, who manned the stand with me, having just been helping me here at home, to shoot some video for youtube with us working with the simulators. I now just have to edit the footage ( aarrghh, a job I hate!!) and hopefully we will have some stuff up there soon too.

Another great demo and like you Heather, I had a fabulous evening. It was great to see so many people there. I managed to count at least 50 people that I know including four Mandys, three Lorraines and a couple of Lesleys!

I was just going to put up a thread saying how good last nights demo was! I had a great time - I could watch kelly and rosie playing with the horses all night - I've a whole load of plans for my poor horse so I can use him to carry the bin bags down the drive way whilst sitting in the saddle - and as for having a plastic 'superman' cape.....
I'm not suprised Pie is feeling tired - he's such a super star that meeting all his fans must tire him out - hopefully he can have a break soon and relax in the lovely fields around Lambourn!
It was good to see Heather too - and a really novel twist to a demo to have her and Kelly working on teh same rider/horse combination
Sarahs book looks to be a really good read - and even if you can't read the photos are lovely

It was great to see you too Heather,I thought that might have been Lucie when she came rushing up with an armful of leaflets for you on the door, but it was to busy for me to be able to take the opportunety to ask. What a coincidence that your brother lives so close,is he a horseman?he looks vaguely familier. It was also nice to see sarah W & some of my fellow herd members, & Liz it was lovely to meet you too at last,& please forgive me but I didn't quite catch who that was with you with the lovely red hair? kelly you were wonderful,& I enjoyed every minute of it,please come back again very soon.X

Hehe, ;D my only brother lives in the Caribbean, Yan! That was my best friend, Nick, he was my brother's best friend when we were young, but he and I stayed friends all our lives. He lives only 20 mins away, so I stayed at his place last night, and drove home this morning. And yes, I taught him to ride when we were teenagers, and he still hunts most winters.
It is never any hardship driving home along the A35 in beautiful weather. It must be one of the most stunningly scenic routes in the West Country!!

Ooops! that what happens when I try to multi task!Is it the Portman he hunts with?if so thats where I have probably seen him before.Yes the drive between Dorchester & Honiton is breathtaking, the bride valley on one side & Marshwood vale on the other, never will tire of it.I had a feeling you might have had an influence over Cesears progress,I saw him at Hoplands last year, your style is unmistakeable Heather.

Cant claim any influence over Caesar's training, Yan, only Rosie's riding! But the riding affects the horses way of going more than most people ever realise, and it is the added bonus that the training improves as a result of improved riding. Nick hunts with the South Dorset- he says the Portman scares him too much! He rides a friends horse, as he hasnt one of his own ( has planes instead!) so doesnt ride regularly enough to tackle the Portman's hedges and ditches

Hi Milo,Its so nice when you can put faces to names . Lol! re the Portman Heather,I dont hunt myself as I haven't got the guts to take Shetan out that first time.I keep Shetan at Winterbourne Houghton, the owners the Browns are three generations of huntsmen with the Portman, grandpa was master I believe. They meet at the yard & I help out ,then we follow on the quad sometimes, really great fun.I think the South Dorset has started to meet at the yard, & I know there pony club uses the X country course. Is Nick the chap who flys for hours in a light air craft over the valley doing loops & things?
